Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to see our 2022 panto “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. It seemed to go down very well indeed with our audiences and we had a truly outstanding review by our local NODA representative which can be seen here on the NODA website.

Looking forward, our 2023 AGM is to be held on Monday March 6th at the Baptist Church Hall, High Street, Wilburton, starting at 8pm. A notice will be sent out to members about this nearer the date.

Summer one-act plays

We are planning our customary adult and youth one-act plays to be performed this summer after a four-year break due to Covid and the lack of a suitable play in 2022.

The youth play is to be “No Such Things”, written by Mike Newbold and to be directed by Barry Starr, with a read-through and auditions to be held at St. Peter’s Hall on Tuesday February 21st, starting at 6pm.

Auditions for our adult play “Brittle Women”, written by Lindsey McAuley and to be directed by Alan Marston, are to be held three weeks later on Tuesday March 14th, starting at 8:30pm.

Rehearsals will then follow each Tuesday with performances at St. Peter’s Hall on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June. After that we hope to take both plays to the Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts in early July.

Please see our auditions page for further details.

A musical!?

We don’t have sufficient time to be able to produce a musical this year but are considering doing so in 2024 and initial planning for this is already underway. If we do go ahead then auditions are likely to be held in December 2023 with rehearsals starting in January 2024, and details will be announced here and to subscribers to our mailing list when available. If you’d like to be kept informed directly then please let us know by email to wilburtontg@gmail.com. There are also rumours of another musical in 2025!

Musicals are expensive to produce so a musical-related fundraising event has been planned for October 2023 and details are shown below.

If you’d like to become involved with this event in any capacity then please follow this link to complete the "Showtime" Google Form which will put you in contact with Nicole Drury (aka Queen Bee!) who is the organiser.

Fundraising

In addition, we’re planning a couple of other fundraising events during 2023 and details will follow when these are available.

Panto 2023

Dates for our 2023 panto have been set as December 7th, 8th and 9th. with performances at 7:30pm each day and a matinee at 2:30pm on the Saturday.
